On July 1, 2014, the DIS version of ISO14001:2015 was officially released. This marks another historic step in the revision process of ISO14001:2015 environmental management system.

The technical committee No. 207 (TC207 for short) is responsible for the preparation of the ISO14001:2015 standard. The ISO14001 environmental management system released the first edition in 1996 and the second edition in 2004. According to ISO official news: the 2015 edition of the standard The final version of the ISO 14001:2015 standard will be released by the end of 2015. The ISO14001:2015 standard clearly states: The purpose of this ISO14001:2015 standard is to provide organizations with a systematic framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions and socio-economic balance needs .It enables organizations to improve their environmental performance by standardizing the requirements of the ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System.

  The senior technical experts of our center interpret the ISO14001:2015 DIS version compared with ISO14001:2004 mainly in the following aspects:

   Added 19 new terms and definitions;

   Added terms for understanding the organization and its environment;

   Added terms for understanding the needs and expectations of interested parties;

   Special emphasis on ISO14001:2015 system success factors are inseparable from the leadership of the top management, while adding the terms of leadership;

   emphasizes identifying risks associated with threats and opportunities and taking steps to manage them;

   In addition to focusing on compliance and goal achievement, there are many emphasis on improving the environmental performance of the organization.
