The ISO22000 standard was officially released on September 1, 2005. The release of this standard will play a unified role in the current international coexistence of too many food safety management system standards.


   It is understood that the China National Institute of Standardization is transforming ISO22000 into a national standard (recommended standard), which will be released before the end of this year. The method is the same as ISO9001, ISO14000 and OHSAS18000, and the ISO standard can be directly translated into Chinese. All previous implementation and certification standards of HACCP system in China will be replaced by ISO22000.

I suggest that in order to make your food safety system more reliable and to verify the effectiveness of your system with third-party certification, it would be wise to obtain certification early. Because although ISO22000 has been officially released, its supporting certification and accreditation standard ISO22003 will be completed in the first quarter of next year, and it will take some time to be recognized by an accreditation body, which will delay your certification to the second half of next year. .


   If you have obtained a third-party food safety management system certification, then you will be a breeze to obtain official national certification. Because third-party certification focuses more on the effectiveness of your system, and it emphasizes continuous improvement. Official verification focuses on compliance and meeting minimum requirements.


  The requirements for third-party audits are higher than those for official verification, because official verification is in a sense the minimum requirements of laws and regulations.
